Il est 6 heures du matin à Himbi, quartier qui longe le lac Kivu aux abords de Goma, dans le Nord-Kivu, en RDC. Hommes, femmes et jeunes filles viennent s'approvisionner en eau à la "plage du peuple", un des plus grands points de puisage d'eau de Goma. De nombreux habitants de Keshero, Katindo, Himbi, Majengo et autres quartiers non desservis en eau potable parcourent de très longues distances pour venir chercher de l'eau.

Nous avons déjà reçu 359 patients à ce jour (vendredi, 25 novembre) depuis notre implantation le 09 novembre 2011. Les premiers jours nous avons eu 64 admissions.Nous recevons actuellement entre 12 et 15 patients au quotidien, informe le responsable du projet Urgence choléra. Selon le Dr Claire Gutierrez, les districts de Deido, New Bell et Nylon sont les plus touchés. Le Ctc a une capacité d'accueil de 132 lits, pourtant, environ 90 d'entre eux ont déjà été utilisés...

Floods and storms are threatening the homes and work of VSO's 54 international volunteers in Namibia including 22 volunteers from the UK. Half of VSO's international volunteers are located in the flood-affected north of the country, close to the borders with Zambia and Angola – where a State of Emergency has been declared.
