The memorandum serves to take urgent and efficient measures which lead to protection and preservation of the sable antelope, conservation of its natural habitat, organising programmes of scientific research for a better knowledge of the animal's habitat.

The Angolan minister of Environment, Fátima Jardim, Thursday in Oslo, Norway, reaffirmed the Government's commitment to contributing to the stabilisation of greenhouse gases. The conference was intended to create a world partnership in the intensification of the implementation of projects and programmes of reduction of emissions caused by the deforestation and degradation of forests, which contribute about 17 percent of the global greenhouse gases emissions.
